President Moon Jae-in held his first summit meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena of Sri Lanka in Seoul (29 November 2017), continuing his plans for strengthening ties with South Asian countries.

Professor Anura Amarasena also had the opportunity to meet President Maithripala Sirisena at Grand Hyatt - Seoul on the invitation extended by the Sri Lanka Embassy. Photos taken with the President and a senior minister - Dr Sarath Amunugama are below. Some important economic corporation agreements are scheduled to be signed between the two countries.
